A Voice of Reason
A native of North Carolina, Dr. David Chadwick graduated from UNC Chapel Hill where he played basketball and was a member of a NCAA Final Four Basketball Team. In addition to his undergraduate degree in Communications, David has a graduate degree in counseling from the University of Florida, plus a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary.
David has been Pastor of the Forest Hill Church in Charlotte, North Carolina since 1980, where worship attendance has grown from 180 to over 6,000 with campuses located in North and South Carolina. In addition, he hosts a local weekly faith and values radio program, “The David Chadwick Show,” on WBT AM/FM in Charlotte, NC as well as the nationally syndicated "Moments of Hope with David Chadwick" a daily Christian teaching show airing nationwide.
David has also authored several books including, My Father My Friend, It's How You Play the Game: The 12 Leadership Principles of Dean Smith, and From Superficial to Significant. Additionally, David has written two daily devotionals - Moments of Hope and Hearing the Voice of God.
David and his wife, Marilynn, have three children, Bethany, David Banner, Michael, Son-in law, Ryan, Daughter-in law Jessi, Daughter-in-law Cassi and five grandchildren.
Marilynn Chadwick believes that God still speaks today. Her passion is to inspire others to listen to His voice amidst a busy, noisy world. With warmth and wisdom, she will help you discover practical ways to make listening to God a natural part of your daily routine as she invites you to take a life-changing journey in prayer.
Marilynn’s story is about what happens when one ordinary woman decides to pray not just for the needs of her own personal world but also for God’s larger world. Her personal journey in prayer has allowed her to see miracles close to home within her own family, and as far away as genocide-torn villages in Africa.
Marilynn and her husband David have served Forest Hill Church in Charlotte where David is Senior pastor for nearly forty years. They have three grown children and five grand children. Her educational background includes a BA in Journalism and International Communication from the University of Georgia and a Masters in Human Development and Learning (MHDL) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has also studied at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
Marilynn founded Seeds of Hope, a non-profit that provides education for kids with big dreams but lacking in resources. She is also the co-founder and principle speaker of Women Under Construction, an outreach of Forest Hill, now in its 3rd decade. She has worked with various urban ministries throughout Charlotte and has had extensive overseas missions experience, with travel on six continents and eleven countries in Africa. Marilynn has just completed a book on prayer called Sometimes He Whispers, Sometimes He Roars: Learning to Hear the Voice of God. It was released by Simon and Schuster’s Howard Books in January 2012. She’s also the recent author of Eight Great Ways to Honor Your Husband and Woman of Valor, both by Harvest House Publishers.
